Whitestone, Queens, NYThis is a prime example of what is wrong with the web design industry nowadays. I’ve encountered a good deal of crappy service lately, but this was mind-boggling
I submitted a “request for quote” on a Tuesday, Didn’t hear anything….nothing……Bueller….weekend comes…nothing.
On Monday, I decide to follow-up with a phone call, which brought me to a live person. The following conversation ensued:me: “Hi there. I submitted a request for a quote on Tuesday.”person: “I don’t get the requests directly. My boss gives them to me. What kind of project is it?”me: ….explained the projects and needs in detail….person: “Oh, well we usually don’t do work with existing websites. We prefer to work with sites from scratch. That’s probably why you didn’t hear back with a quote.”me: (((shock))) “You mean you weren’t going to reply because I potentially wasn’t a prospective client?”person: “pretty much”me: “So even though I was waiting for the quote, you just weren’t going to get back to me?”person: “probably not.”me: “the 2nd question on the quote request asks whether we have a website already. Are you telling me that when the ‘yes’ box is checked, you write these requests off?”person: “yep.”I can’t make this crap up.——————————-From:Dan S.Los Angeles, CAiNowWeb.com has Horrible customer service!Worst sales rep I have ever encountered!So, I was on the search for a web developer and found http://inowweb.com through google.I give them a call and a “Nicole” (not sure if that’s her real name) picks up the phone.me: Hello, I would like to speak to someone about creating a website for my company.her: Uh huh, yep, you can speak to me. We charge $$$ for 100 pictures and $$$ for every 500 pictures after that.me: Oh? So the price on creating a website is based on how many pictures your company will be uploading? Strange, I’ve never heard of that before.her: yep, can I help you with anything else? Wait.. didn’t you just call me a few minutes ago?me: nopeher: um huh.. ok.. can I help you with anything else?me: ok… so, can you tell me a little more about what I get with the package?her: I mean, what else do you want to know? It comes with (blah blah blah)me: ok, would I be able to get inventory or any other tools included in that price?her: tsk you are so annoying! I’ve been working for this company for 3 years and you are the most annoying person I’ve talked to.me: ??? I want to speak to your manager!and then It goes on for about 10 minutes of her calling me stupid, annoying, loser, fag, nerd and how she would never allow me to speak to her manager.It even came to a point where she promised me a free website if I was able to get in contact with her manager.Free website or not, I would never work with a company that has such a horrible 3 year old sales rep.How in the world has http://inowweb.com managers not noticed?——————————Comment Away!!
